Our name, Blackground, stems from a high appreciation and value of those who have paved the way before us and those who will lead the way after us.

Sierra Polk
Before Blackground, Sierra's path began leading membership rewards + cashback program design for a wholesale retailer.
Sierra's work helped lay the financial foundation for its growth, with cashback programs expected at +$200 Billion by 2024!
Sierra then went on to help Fortune 100s craft financial structures for today's online grocery & delivery program. Global e-commerce sales are projected to hit +$54.3 Billion in by 2024.
Sierra pivoted to membership in business and community building, (both on-and-offline), through events, belonging, placemaking, equity and culture consulting.
Since then, helping under-invested entrepreneurs lay their own stable financial foundations to build generational wealth & close pay gaps is the focus.

We help amplify the true stories shared in memorial of Tulsa's Black Wall Street & The Elaine Arkansas Massacre.
This was in collaboration with Arkansas PBS, the Justice & Peace Memorial Movement, Just Communities of Arkansas & the Descendants of Elaine.
These events were part of Juneteenth 2021 events, and a virtual film series during quarantine to view the film "Resurrecting Black Wall Street."
